A: TWO new power plants in the Meadowlands!!
New Jersey Transit wants to build its own gas-powered power plant in the Kearny. They have proposed a 104-140 MW plant that will run 24/7, and be one of the largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions in the state.
This announcement comes one week after Governor Murphy’s administration released an Energy Master Plan that is silent on eliminating gas plants, and after seven NJ legislators came out in support of a moratorium on all new fossil fuel projects. Read more in this article at northjersey.com.
