An NJ Transit board meeting on April 13 was the scene for environmental advocates, including members of the Don’t Gas the Meadowlands coalition, to confront the agency about its apparent backsliding on its commitment to build a power plant that would be compliant with the state’s long term clean energy goals – 100% clean energy by 2050. By building a new facility reliant on fossil fuels, instead of a forward-thinking clean energy facility, the state would be locking itself into dependence on fueling our climate crisis.
