NJ Students Invite You to “March for Our Lungs” on May 18 in Ridgefield

Students all around NJ invite you to MARCH FOR OUR LUNGS to urge Gov. Murphy to reject the proposed fracked-gas Meadowlands Power Plant. In addition to impacting our local communities, this plant would be the biggest climate polluter in NJ! Our collective presence will show the governor that we need him to reject this dirty, dangerous and unnecessary power plant NOW before more permits for the plant get approved!

What: March 0.8 miles from Ridgefield Memorial High School to the site near the proposed power plant (behind the H-Mart in Ridgefield). Students will lead the way, but all ages are encouraged because we are stronger together!

When: Saturday, May 18, 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

  • 1:00 to 1:30 pm – Start with rally at Ridgefield Memorial High School
  • 1:30 to 2:30 pm – March along Shaler Blvd. .8 mile
  • 2:30 to 3:00 pm – Closing rally near proposed power plant site at 175 Railroad Avenue (behind Broad Avenue H-Mart), Ridgefield

Where: Ridgefield Memorial High School, 555 Walnut St., Ridgefield, NJ

Other Considerations: Free parking at Ridgefield Memorial High School. Please carpool if you can! Also, we will have water bottle refill stations along the route so please bring a reusable water bottle! Interested in getting more involved and helping with the march?
